ASU Police reported the following incident Thursday:

  • A 14-year-old girl was reported missing by her father Tuesday afternoon, police reported.

    Police pursued several leads, but the child had not been located at the time the report was filed.

    The child was entered into the National Crime Information Center, and a search was launched in surrounding agencies, police reported.

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 57-year-old Mesa man was arrested late Monday night near the U.S. 60 and South Mill Avenue on suspicion of being in possession of dangerous drugs for sale, police reported.

    The man was stopped after police witnessed him speeding, according to a police report.

    During the stop, he was found to be in possession of approximately one-quarter ounce of methamphetamine, police reported.

    He admitted to purchasing the methamphetamine and said he was transporting the drug to someone else that had provided him with money for the purchase, according to a report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, police reported.

  • A 21-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested Monday afternoon on the 1800 block of North Scottsdale Road on suspicion of being in possession of dangerous drugs, police reported.

    The man was contacted because police saw him suspiciously toss paper on the ground, according to a police report.

    Police examined the paper and determined it contained a usable amount of heroin, police reported.

    A search of the man’s pockets revealed he was in possession of syringes and cotton, which are often used to filter and inject heroin, according to a report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of possession of dangerous drugs and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

  • A 22-year-old Mesa man was arrested early Saturday morning on the 800 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence, police reported.

    The man committed several traffic violations, including driving in the wrong direction down a busy street and nearly driving head-on into a police vehicle, according to a report.

    A Motor Vehicle Division inquiry revealed the man’s driver’s license was suspended, police reported.

    An inventory of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag that contained a substance believed to be marijuana, according to a report.

    After the man was transported to Tempe City Jail, he submitted to a breath test and had a blood-alcohol level of .194, police reported.

    It was also revealed he had an outstanding City of Mesa warrant for his arrest, according to a report.

    He was booked on one count of driving under the influence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content above the legal level, one count of extreme driving under the influence, one count of reckless driving, one count of driving with a suspended license and one count of possession of marijuana, police reported.
