Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 28-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Wednesday morning on the 2600 block of North Saratoga Street on suspicion of aggravated assault and committing a hit-and-run, police reported.

    The man was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol when he collided with another vehicle just before midnight at North Scottsdale Road and East Lilac Drive, according to a police report.

    The other vehicle rolled in the accident, causing serious physical injury to the two occupants inside, police reported.

    The man then fled the scene but was quickly apprehended, according to a report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated assault and one count of committing a hit-and-run with serious injury, police reported.

  • A 57-year-old Apache Junction woman was arrested early Tuesday morning on the 1600 block of North Scottsdale Road on suspicion of being in possession of dangerous drugs, police reported.

    Investigation later revealed the woman was in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, according to a police report.

    Police also found a white, crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, police reported.

    She was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of being in possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of being in possession of dangerous drugs, according to a report.

  • A 21-year-old Mesa man was arrested early Saturday morning on the 100 block of East University Drive on suspicion of committing aggravated assault and unlawfully fleeing, police reported.

    The man reportedly fled from police while he was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs, according to a police report.

    A search of the man’s vehicle revealed a small pill container filled with pills believed to be ecstasy, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, one count of unlawful flight from law enforcement and one count of being in possession of dangerous drugs, according to a report.

  • A 19-year-old transient man was arrested on Sept. 3 on the 1200 block of West Baseline Road on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage, police reported.

    The man reportedly removed a $300 hair-straightening iron from a display case and struck one employee in the face, according to a police report.

    The blow caused the employee to fall to the ground and break her prescription eyeglasses worth $100, police reported.

  • The man then fled the area and police set up a perimeter with patrol officers and a helicopter, according to a report.

    He was located in an apartment complex at the above location and reportedly denied any involvement in the robbery or damage, police reported.

    The man was positively identified by four witnesses and transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of robbery and one count of criminal damage, according to a report.
