Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 25-year-old transient woman was arrested Tuesday morning on the 1300 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of aggravated assault of a police officer, assault of a Food City employee and shoplifting, police reported.

    During an investigation for shoplifting at Food City, the woman was detained after she attempted to flee the scene, according to a police report.

    While detained, she spat on the officer and a store employee, police reported.

    She was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated assault, one count of assault and one count of shoplifting, according to a report.

  • A 33-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on the 1700 block of West Baseline Road on suspicion of possession and transport of marijuana, police reported.

    Narcotics detectives observed the suspect loading an estimated 30 pounds of marijuana into an RV, according to a police report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of possession of marijuana, one count of possession of marijuana for transport and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

  • A 52-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday night on the 1200 block of East Harry Street on suspicion of vehicle theft, police reported.

    On June 27, the suspect was invited to the victims’ residence on the 1600 block of East El Parque Drive after meeting the victims at Cadillac Ranch Bar and Grill in Tempe, according to a police report.

    After the victims went to sleep, the man reportedly stole the keys to the victims’ car and several other items in the house, police reported.

    The vehicle was recovered on Aug. 6 on the 1100 block of East University Drive in Mesa. The suspect’s fingerprints and palm print were identified on the car, according to a report.

    He was identified by the victims during a photo lineup, police reported.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail on one count of theft of means of transportation, according to a report.

  • A 32-year-old Sells, Ariz., man was arrested Tuesday night on the 700 block of North Mill Avenue on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence, police reported.

    Upon contact, police noted the man had bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol on his breath after they observed him backing into a parked patrol vehicle. He admitted to drinking alcohol, according to a police report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and one outstanding warrant for a Pinal County aggravated DUI charge on Sept. 4, according to a report.

  • An 18-year-old male ASU student was arrested early Wednesday morning on the 600 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    The man reportedly held a retractable-blade knife in an open position within one foot of the victim while asking the victim to repeat what he had just said, according to a police report.

    He was detained by security and later transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated assault, police reported.
