Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • A 52-year-old Chandler woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of shoplifting at a department store in Arizona Mills Mall on the 5000 block of South Arizona Mills Circle, police reported.

    The woman was reportedly seen putting articles of clothing and several pairs of shoes into a shopping bag before attempting to leave without paying, according to the report.

    During the interrogation, the woman admitted she was trying to steal the items and that she planned to sell them on the street in order to pay for her cell phone bill, police reported.

    The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • An 18-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on Monday morning on suspicion of being a minor in consumption and committing aggravated robbery on the 500 block of West Brown Street, according to a police report.

    The man is suspected of participating in an assault in which he and another man pushed two people to the ground and began kicking them, according to a report.

    Witnesses reported that while they were assaulting them, the two men began shouting, “Give me your money and your sandwiches,” police reported.

    When the man was contacted in connection with the assault, officers smelled alcohol on his breath, according to a report.

    He was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 45-year-old Show Low woman was arrested late Monday night on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs for sale near the Fort McDowell Road exit of Highway 87, police reported.

    The woman was stopped for reportedly impeding traffic when officers determined she was driving 50 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to a report.

    The woman consented to a search of her person, which revealed she was holding about seven ounces of methamphetamine, police reported.

    The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to a report.

  • A 21-year-old Mesa man and an 18-year-old Tempe man were arrested late Sunday night on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia near East Southern Avenue and South Country Club Way, police reported.

    The men were stopped in their vehicle for reportedly having expired registration when the officer searched the car and found a useable quantity of marijuana on the driver’s side floorboard, according to a police report.

    Further searches of the vehicle revealed rolling papers and a marijuana cigarette, police reported.

    The men were booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, according to a report.
