The ASU tennis team will send three of its members today to the All-American Championship tournament in Los Angeles.
The tournament is an accumulation of returning All-Americans from across the country and will include top-ranked junior Maria Mosolova (junior) from Northwestern and nine of the top 10 players in the country.
“There are no easy matches in this tournament,” McInerny said.
Juniors Kelcy McKenna and Micaela Hein and senior Nadia Abdala have all been invited to compete, and McKenna and Hein are listed as the first alternate in the doubles competition.
Coach McInereny was happy that the team competed in the weekend’s Cal Nike Invitational to prepare them for this “elite” tournament.
McKenna was last year’s singles champion defeating Auburn senior Fani Chifchieva 6-3, 6-4 to claim the title.
Though invited to the tournament, Abdala will not be competing in her second straight event due to injury
