Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • A 19-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of failing to provide proper identification to police after officers found him hiding behind a bush on West 14th Street, police reported.

    Police found the 19-year-old with another man during a K-9 search, according to a police report.

    Following a search, officers found two small bags of a usable quantity of marijuana, police reported.

    The Phoenix man admitted to ownership of one of the bags, according to the report.

  • A 19-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a Safeway store at 926 E. Broadway Road in Tempe, police reported.

    An employee reportedly saw the man attempting to conceal two bottles of alcohol in his shorts and exit the store, according to a police report.

    Officers stopped the man and determined he was not of legal age to possess alcohol, and the man was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol, police reported.

    Additional investigation revealed he was in possession of a usable quantity of marijuana and 13 pink pills believed to be ecstasy, according to the police report.

  • A 21-year-old Mesa woman and her 26-year-old sister were arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault on Saturday, police reported.

    The two women were originally arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after a physical altercation with a third woman, according to a police report.

    The third woman was taken to a local hospital, and it was determined that she sustained a blowout fracture to her head, police reported.

    The older sister reportedly lifted the victim up and dropped her on the ground, slamming her face into the ground about four times. Then, both women allegedly kicked the victim in the head and back, according to the report.

  • A 22-year-old Mesa man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    The man was being moved from an ambulance stretcher to a hospital bed at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, near the Tempe campus, when he reportedly assaulted the nurse who was attending to him, according to a police report.

    The man allegedly reached up and grabbed the nurse by the ear and hair and attempted to pull her toward his bed, police reported.
