Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Friday morning on the 100 block of West Fifth Street on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    Investigation revealed the man reportedly assaulted another man while he was on the ground and unable to defend himself, according to a police report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated assault, police reported.

  • A 33-year-old Mesa man was arrested Wednesday night at East Apache Boulevard and South Una Butte Avenue on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, police reported.

    Investigation revealed he was in possession of a digital scale with methamphetamine residue and syringes with residue, according to a police report.

    A search revealed a bag containing methamphetamine in the man’s pocket, police reported.

    He was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of dangerous drugs, according to a report.

  • A 44-year-old Cornville, Ariz., man was arrested Wednesday morning on the 1200 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of trespassing, police reported.

    The man was contacted after he reportedly jumped two fences in order to reach vending machines, according to a police report.

    He was later found to be in possession of a stolen firearm located in his vehicle, police reported.

    A criminal history check revealed the man to be a prohibited possessor of a firearm, according to a report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of being a prohibited possessor, one count of possession of a stolen firearm and one count of trespassing, police reported.

  • A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Wednesday morning on the 400 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of giving false information to police officers, police reported.

    Police officers recognized the man from an outstanding police bulletin for burglary and stolen property, according to a police report.

    During the contact he gave several false names to police in order to avoid detection of his two outstanding warrants, police reported.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of giving false information to police and the two outstanding warrants, according to a report.

  • A 27-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    The man’s brother reported that he hit him in the face, according to a police report.

    The man told police he was really drunk and could not remember what happened but knew he had hit his brother in the face, police reported.

    He also had an injury to his right hand and a felony warrant for his arrest, according to a report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of domestic violence aggravated assault, police reported.
