Glendale has struck out again.

With the BCS Bowl matchups being released on Sunday evening, my worst fears were realized.

TCU and Boise State are coming to University of Phoenix Stadium for the Fiesta Bowl, and the retail shop owners of the Phoenix area are cringing.

Outside of the few BSU and TCU fans that will travel, the game generates zero interest locally.

Sure, fans will tune in to watch both anti-BCS darlings square off, but I am sure only a few will be willing to fork the money to buy a ticket.

You can’t tell me that Glendale wouldn’t prefer to have the gigantic fan base of Iowa in town, but instead the city gets two teams looking to prove themselves.

But they won’t get to do that, because they are playing each other.

I’m sure each school would prefer to face a BCS conference school to prove their worth, and so would Glendale.
