ASU Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested Wednesday at Eagle Hall on the Polytechnic campus for having two confirmed warrants, according to a police report.

    The man was first contacted around 11:15 p.m. during a marijuana investigation and was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix.

  • An unknown person or persons burglarized a vehicle at the Rural Road parking structure on the Tempe campus Wednesday between 7:40 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to a police report.

    The vehicle belonged to a female ASU employee and the estimated loss is $11, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft by stealing a laptop computer from Hayden Library on the Tempe campus on Wednesday between 4:55 and 5 p.m., according to a police report.

    The laptop, which was estimated to be worth $2,000, belonged to a 19-year-old male undergraduate.

  • Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 38-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of forgery after investigation revealed he stole, forged and cashed 18 checks into his account between Sept. 29 and Dec. 21, 2009, according to a police report.

    The man admitted he stole and forged the checks because he had been laid off and he needed the money for his mortgage and truck payment, according to a report.

    He was booked and released pending an investigation, police reported.

  • A 26-year-old Tempe man and a 23-year-old Tempe woman were arrested at East Julie Drive and South McClintock Drive in Tempe on Tuesday at 11:24 p.m. on suspicion of being in possession of narcotic drugs and dangerous drugs, according to a police report.

    An investigation revealed the suspects had a usable quantity of heroin and buprenorphine, along with straws, foil and plastic bags, inside of their vehicle, police reported.

    They were booked and released pending the charges, according to a report.

  • A 32-year-old transient male was arrested at the Safeway on East Elliot Road and South McClintock Drive in Tempe on Tuesday at 7:57 p.m. on suspicion of shoplifting, according to a police report.

    Store loss prevention officials observed the man removing and concealing several items from a display rack, police reported.

    The man passed all checkouts and made no attempt to pay for the items, according to a report.

    The man had two outstanding felony warrants for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    He was transported to the Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, according to a police report.
