ASU freshman diver Riley McCormick competed at the 2010 Winter Senior National Championships in Toronto, Canada last weekend, and earned first place on the platform.

A native of Canada, McCormick competed for Victoria.

He received a perfect 10 on one of his dives.

On his fifth dive, McCormick received four 9.0s, two 9.5s and one 10.

His overall score that earned him the win for the platform was 472.55.

“I won the platform, which is my best event,” McCormick said. “Everything went well, and a lot of it has to do with being able to train here [at ASU], and being surrounded by such good athletes.”

McCormick now has four Senior National gold medals.
