ASU Police reported the following incidents Monday:
- An unknown person or persons stole the backpack of a 19-year-old Tempe man from a practice room at ASU Music West on the Tempe campus on Sunday, police reported.
The backpack contained an ASU Sun Card, debit card, driver’s license and a laptop computer, according to a police report.
There are no witnesses, suspects or leads at this time, police reported.
The estimated value of the items stolen is $1,340.00, according to a police report.
- An unknown person or persons committed armed robbery and assault Sunday on the 1400 block of South Rural Road in Tempe, police reported.
The unknown man reportedly threatened at 25-year-old woman with a dangerous instrument and robbed her, according to a police report.
The victim didn’t require medical attention, police reported.
The total estimated loss of the property stolen from her was between $60 and $100, according to a report.
- An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage between Thursday and Friday on the east side of the Global Institute of Sustainability, police reported.
The person or persons damaged an electric trash compactor by knocking it over, damaging the machine’s internal electronics and exterior casing, according to a police report.
The estimated cost of repair the item is $800, police reported.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 24-year old male transient was arrested Saturday on suspicion of trespassing, police reported.
He was arrested after allegedly removing the screen of a residential home on the 1100 block of East Lemon Street in Tempe, according to a police report.
Police reported the man had climbed through the window and was in the living room when officers contacted him. The owner was not home at the time, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, according to a report.
- A 19-year-old Tempe man was arrested in his home Friday on suspicion of armed robbery, police reported.
Investigation revealed the man as a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 8 at South Evergreen Road and East McArthur Drive, according to a police report.
On Jan. 22, police searched the man’s home on the 2300 block of East McArthur Street. Property taken during the robbery was found in his bedroom, police reported.
On Friday, the victim identified the man in a line-up as one of the two people who pointed a handgun at him, according to a report.
The suspect was booked on charges of armed robbery and possession of narcotic drugs, which were found in his home during the search, police reported.
- An 18-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault of a 15-year-old girl on Thursday, police reported.
The woman is suspected of pushing a 15-year-old girl up against a fence at a bus stop south of Marcos De Niza High School in Tempe on Sept. 17, according to a police report.
The 18-year-old allegedly punched the 15-year-old multiple times. The victim sustained a bruise over her right eye and her glasses were broken, police reported.
The woman was transported her to Tempe City Jail where she was booked and released pending charges, according to a report.
