ASU police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- An unknown person or persons committed theft Monday by stealing a bicycle from the bike rack on the west side of the Life Sciences building on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.
The bicycle was estimated to be worth around $200 and belonged to a 21-year-old female undergraduate, police reported.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 34-year-old Mesa man was arrested near South Dorsey Lane and East 8th Street on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and failing to register as a sex offender Sunday around 2:28 a.m., police reported.
Investigation revealed the man, a registered sex offender in Pinal County, failed to register within 72 hours of moving to Maricopa County, where he currently lives, according to a report.
He was taken to Tempe City Jail, booked and processed, according to a report.
- A 23-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia on Saturday at 12:43 a.m., according to a police report.
The man, who appeared to be asleep, had a syringe, spoon and lighter on the seat between his legs while he was riding the light rail between West Washington Street and North Center Parkway in Tempe, according to a report.
He attempted to run from police when contacted and a search revealed a small quantity of white powder in his front pants pocket, police reported.
He was processed and released pending charges, according to a report.
- A 48-year-old transient man was arrested Friday at West University Drive and North Ash Street around 7:19 p.m. on suspicion of obstructing a public thoroughfare and possession of a dangerous drug, according to a police report.
While riding his bicycle across University Drive, the man caused several vehicles to come to sudden stops to avoid colliding with him, police reported.
A search revealed the man was in possession of a usable amount of a white, crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, according to a report.
He was transferred to the Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, police reported.
