You all saw it.

Sidney Crosby’s goal in overtime that gave Canada the 3-2 victory over the U.S. in the Olympic hockey final.

Maybe some of you felt a tear coming to your eyes as your heart broke just a little. When the U.S. beat the tournament-favorite Canada 5-3 the first time the two teams played, we all hoped that the U.S. would be able to pull it off again and get the gold.

After the devastating loss to the U.S., Canada had to work hard and play qualification games to get to the final game.

We were hoping they wouldn’t make it.

They did.

For me, it was a win-win situation.

I was just happy that the final game was between the U.S. and Canada. It was the ultimate showdown. Both teams were fighting for honor. Nobody knew what the result would be.

Unfortunately for the U.S., Canada got its fairytale ending. Both teams played their hearts out. It was a game full of intensity and excitement.

In the end, it was fitting that Canada won. Hockey is Canada’s game, and it was a win that may have meant the most to them.

Could we have said the same thing if the U.S. had won?
