ASU Police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • An unknown person or persons criminally damaged an elevator at the Sands Building on the West campus on Sunday, police reported.

    The person or persons set off three smoke bombs that caused burns to the elevator rug. The cost to repair the damage has yet to be determined at this time, according to a police report.

    There are no leads or suspects at this time, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage against ASU Family Resources on the Tempe campus by spray painting several words and slogans in blue paint on the north side of the building on Thursday, police reported.

    The reporting Family Resources employee was referred to ASU the Facilities Management Paint Shop and was provided a victim rights pamphlet, according to a police report.

  • A Tempe woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a serious physical injury on Friday, when she struck another woman in the face with an ashtray, causing a laceration on her forehead, police reported.

    The assault occurred during an argument in their shared apartment at Vista Del Sol on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.

    The victim said she did not want to aid in prosecution, police reported.

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:
  • A 20-year-old Tempe man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of public consumption, being a minor in possession of alcohol and resisting arrest, police reported.

    The man was originally contacted after being seen drinking from a bottle of Castillo Gold Rum, raising the bottle to his lips for approximately 5 seconds, according to a police report.

    As officers attempted to put handcuffs on the man, he pulled away from them, attempting to free himself, police reported.

    During a search in the arrest, seven pills believed to be Ecstasy were found on his person, according to a report.

    The man was booked and processed at Tempe City Jail and was later released, according to the police report.

  • A 23-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday, police reported.

    Upon her arrest, police escorted the woman through the house to retrieve a sweater. While walking by the kitchen, which was a common area of the residence, officers observed a glass pipe with a bowl on one end and black burned residue commonly used to smoke marijuana, according to a police report.

    Officers found a usable quantity of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, police reported

    The woman was booked into and processed at Tempe City Jail and was later released, according to a report.
