College basketball is not the epitome of sports.

I don’t know why it bothers me, but every time I see a column talking about how “pure” college basketball is, I get a little annoyed.

No, they don’t play for money, but is that a valid argument in comparison to other sports?

Would Steve Nash prefer a couple extra million instead of a championship? The answer is no, judging by his return to the Suns.

We are stuck comparing this amazing display of emotion and heart to the end of the NBA regular season, and too many people jump to the wrong conclusion.

The NBA cannot be compared to NCAA basketball or March Madness.

College athletes are called amateurs for a reason. The talent gap from college to the NBA is far wider then any other professional sport.

Now I understand that the styles of play differ, and that some people much prefer the college style, but don’t ignore the sheer athleticism of NBA players.

If you hate the NBA and its players, good, keep hating. But please stop searching for the purest sport.
