Police Beat: April 12


Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 35-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, police reported.
  • Police searched the man’s vehicle, located near South Country Club Way and East Oxford Drive in Tempe, in response to a disturbance, according to a police report.

    Police found a usable quantity of Alprazolam underneath the driver’s seat, and the man admitted he did not have a prescription for the drug, police reported.

    The man was booked and held at the Tempe City Jail, according to a report.

  • A 29-year-old Mesa woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated DUI, police reported.
  • Police stopped the woman near East Broadway and South Price roads for failure to drive in a single lane, according to a police report.

    The woman admitted to drinking, and a field test revealed she had a blood-alcohol level of .227, police reported.

    The woman was convicted of extreme DUI in Scottsdale in September, according to a report.

    The woman was booked in Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 25-year-old Mesa man was arrested April 4 on suspicion of disorderly conduct and being in possession of a narcotic drug, police reported.
  • A police investigation revealed the man grabbed onto a hostess outside of Crave Cafe & Lounge on Mill Avenue in Tempe, and was told to leave by security multiple times, according to a police report.

    A search of the man revealed a usable quantity of cocaine, police reported.

    The man was booked in Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 31-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and for a fugitive of justice warrant from Illinois, police reported.
  • The man was stopped by police on Mill Avenue for having illegal window tint on his vehicle, according to a police report.

    The man was booked and held at Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 26-year-old Avondale man was arrested Monday on suspicion of possession of marijuana, being in possession of a narcotic drug and being in possession of a prescription drug, police reported.
  • Police pulled the man over for failure to use a turn signal, according to a police report.

    The man admitted to having prescription pills, and police found a usable quantity of marijuana during a search, police reported.

    The man was booked and released from Tempe City Jail pending charges, according to a report.
