Police Beat: April 22


ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage between April 14 and April 15 by damaging a parking meter in ASU Lot 57 in Tempe, police reported.The estimated loss is $500, according to a police report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft around 12 p.m. Tuesday by taking a cell phone belonging to a 21-year-old male student, police reported.The cell phone was removed from Hayden Library, according to a police report.

    The estimated loss is $440, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
  • A 26-year-old Tempe man was arrested Monday on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, being in possession of drug paraphernalia and being in possession of prescription-only drugs, police reported.Police contacted the man on the 600 block of west Fifth Street, and found a usable quantity of methamphetamine, a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and three Xanax pills during a search, according to a police report.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, police reported.

  • A 26-year-old Phoenix man was arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of possession of prescription-only drugs, police reported.A police investigation revealed the man had eight pills of OxyContin in his wallet, according to a police report.

    The man told police he did not have a reason for his possession of the pills, police reported.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, according to a report.

  • A 23-year-old Guadalupe man was arrested around 2:30 a.m. April 15 on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, being in possession of dangerous drugs, and having two outstanding warrants for his arrest, police reported.Police contacted the man at south Priest Drive and west Baseline Road after he committed a traffic violation, according to a police report.

    During a search of the man, police found a bag containing a usable quantity of methamphetamine, police reported.

    The man was booked and held at Tempe City Jail, according to a report.
