Phil Mickelson is tied for second after the first day after shooting a 5-under 67. Mickelson had four birdies and an eagle, while shooting par on 12 holes and bogeying one hole. After finishing 1-under on the first nine holes, Mickelson finished strong by shooting a 4-under 32 on his last nine holes.
Paul Casey is tied for 63rd after shooting a 3-over 75. He finished the first round with five birdies, eight pars, three bogeys, a double-bogey and a triple-bogey.
