Women’s golf earns No. 1 seed

The ASU women’s golf team has earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Central Regional, which will be hosted by Indiana.

The Regional will be played at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. from May 6-8.

The No. 2 Sun Devils are the defending national champions and currently own the nation’s longest streak of NCAA Championships appearances with 18.

Eight teams and two individuals from each of the three Regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships in Wilmington, N.C.

Twenty-four teams compete in each regional, and Pac-10 foes USC (No. 2 seed) and Oregon (No. 11 seed) are in the Central Regional. — Kyle Glaser
