Tempe Police reported the following incidents Saturday:
- A 24-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Thursday near West Baseline Road and South Priest Drive around 10:45 p.m. on suspicion of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported. Police contacted the man after a traffic stop due to broken headlights, according to a police report. The man admitted to having pills without a prescription, police reported. Further investigation revealed a pipe in the glove box of his vehicle, which he admitted possession to under his Miranda rights, according to a police report.
- A 27-year-old Tempe man was arrested Thursday near South Mill Avenue and Fifth Street around 10 p.m. on suspicion of trespassing, assault, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, police reported. The man and two other unidentified individuals were involved in an altercation with Hippie Gypsy employees inside the store, according to a police report. The employees told the man to leave several times, police reported. The man grabbed a female employee by the shoulder, according to a police report.Further search after the man’s arrest revealed a bag of marijuana in his shoe, police reported.
- A 29-year-old San Tan Valley man was arrested near Arizona Mills Thursday night around 7 p.m. on suspicion of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported. The man was contacted regarding a possible vehicle burglary, according to a police report. A search of the vehicle revealed a needle and a black tar substance believed to be heroin, police reported.Further investigation revealed the vehicle belonged to the man’s mother, according to a police report.
- A 20-year-old Mesa man was arrested Thursday near East Baseline Road and South Ninth Street around 2 a.m. on suspicion of aggressive assault, criminal damage and being a minor in possession of alcohol, police reported. Police contacted the man after numerous witnesses reported the incident, according to a police report. The man reportedly assaulted four people, according to a police report. An officer was bitten by the man as he attempted to detain him, police reported. The man punched a door, leaving damage, and upon further investigating police found the man had alcohol in his system, according to a police report.
