Passing the Buck

(In response to Will Munsil’s column “Obama should move past blame game.”)

It is clear that Will Munsil has a bone to pick with President Barack Obama, pointing out the mess that the Bush Administration left Obama to handle. It seems that this is the case with pretty much everyone on the right. They say we need to stop blaming George W. Bush for the problems we now face as a country.

Liberals are still blaming Bush for the economy and other problems, because they are problems started by the Bush Administration's policies. That is plain and simple. The criticism of the Bush Administration is not, as Mr. Munsil puts it, unfair. It is completely warranted.

If Will Munsil thinks that the president giving a speech about stopping the blaming of Bush is going to help heal the mood of the nation, he is wrong. He is wrong because people like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin will spin it to make it look like Obama is out to get the average person, and they will do what they do best and very effectively: encourage violence.

I would also like to remind Mr. Munsil that every major bad event of the Bush Administration was blamed by the right on Bill Clinton. Everything from 9/11 and the Iraq War, to the inundation of New Orleans and the economic meltdown of late 2008, are events that the right blamed Bill Clinton for.  So please, take a look in the mirror and realize how hypocritical you are being with this column.
