Police Beat: Sept. 21


ASU Police reported the following incidents Monday:

An unknown person or persons stole a laptop from an unlocked room in the Music West Building on Gammage Parkway Friday afternoon, according to a police report.

A 40-year-old man reported the burglary around 1:30 p.m., police reported.

The estimated value of the stolen laptop was $1,400, according to police.

A 19-year-old man was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of consuming alcohol as a minor, police reported.

After the suspect was arrested he kicked out a piece of Plexiglas from the arresting officer’s patrol vehicle, according to a police report.

The man could be charged with criminal damage, police reported.

The estimated value of the damage was $100, according to the report.

The man was later turned over to the Chandler Police Department for a valid warrant, police reported.

A 19-year-old woman turned over 1 gram of marijuana to police around 1 a.m. Saturday, police reported.

The woman said she found the bottle of marijuana in her roommate’s desk at the Sonora Center residence hall, police reported.

A 22-year-old man reported a car burglary Thursday morning, police reported.

An unknown person or persons broke the passenger side window of the man’s 2007 Mazda 3 and stole a GPS, DVD player, radar detector and an iPod, police reported.

The car was parked on the fourth level of the Vista del Sol Parking Structure on the 700 block of East Apache Boulevard, according to the police report.

The estimated value of the damage was $2,500, police reported.

A 19-year-old woman reported Friday her car had been burglarized sometime between Monday and Friday at the Vista del Sol Parking Structure, police reported.

An unknown person or persons stole items estimated to be worth $1,400 from the woman’s 1995 Pontiac Sunfire, police reported.

A 21-year-old man allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, 21, around 11:30 a.m. Thursday inside the business school on the Tempe campus, police reported

The man allegedly grabbed the woman’s wrist when she tried to walk away from him and then shoved her backward, police reported.

The man is also suspected of taking the victim’s cell phone and throwing it on the ground, police reported.

The man was in violation of a restraining order, according to a police report.
