The Pittsburgh Steelers are 2-0 so far this season, and they’ve got there without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. In fact, they’ve got there without any star quarterbacks.

The Steelers are digging deep to get these wins, and by deep, I mean deep into the bench.

After Roethlisberger’s backup, Byron Leftwich, was injured in the final preseason game, the Steelers had to choose from guys way down the line on the bench.

The Steelers used Dennis Dixon in the first two games, but when Dixon was taken out with a knee injury, the Steelers had one final option: longtime backup Charlie Batch.

Batch played the final three quarters against Tennessee, and the Steelers took a 19-11 victory.

The Steelers have also been playing strong defensively. They held top running back Chris Johnson to a measly 34 yards

For those of you that don’t like Pittsburgh because of Roethlisberger, know that even without him the Steelers are a team that will dig deep and fight to the end.

Batch will be starting in Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. We’ll see just how tough the Steelers are, as they face the Buccaneers this weekend, also standing at 2-0.

And in two games, Roethlisberger will be back.
