Police Beat: Oct. 1


ASU Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police reported.A cell phone belonging to a 19-year-old female student was taken from the SRC field on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.The estimated loss is $400, police reported.There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
  • An 18-year-old male student was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.The student was arrested inside the Veterans Way parking structure in Tempe after a police investigation revealed three packages of Zig-Zag rolling papers and two small pieces of a smoked marijuana cigarette that contained usable quantities of marijuana, according to a police report.The man was cited and released at the scene, police reported.
  • A 20-year-old male student was arrested around 4 p.m. on Monday on suspicion of criminal damage, police reported.The man is accused of using his fist to punch out both taillights of a vehicle parked in the Vista del Sol parking structure on the Tempe campus belonging to a 23-year-old female student on May 12, according to a police report.The estimated loss is $200, police reported.The man was arrested, processed at the ASU Police Department and released, according to a report.
  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage around 2 a.m. on Sept. 16, police reported.The front door to Best Hall on the Tempe campus was damaged, according to a police report.The estimated loss is $100, police reported.There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
