Police Beat: Sept. 22


ASU Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday by taking a bicycle belonging to an 18-year-old male student, police reported.The student’s bicycle was locked to a fence near the Sun Devil Stadium ticket office, according to a police report.

    The estimated loss is $700, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday by taking a bicycle belonging to a 36-year-old male student, police reported.The bicycle was stolen from the Physical Science F-wing on Tempe campus, according to a police report.

    The estimated loss is $450, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.

  • An unknown man committed assault against a female ASU police aide around 10 p.m. Monday, police reported.The police aide was contacting two people for skateboarding on the north side of Orange Mall when the man approached her, put his arm around her and kissed her cheek, according to a police report.

    The police aide does not wish to aid in prosecution, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed forgery between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, police reported.A counterfeit $5 bill was used to purchase items at the Sand Trap Snack Shop on the West campus, according to a police report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between Sep. 14 and Monday by taking a bicycle belonging to an 18-year-old male student, police reported.The bicycle was taken from the bike racks on the west side of Manzanita Hall, according to a police report.

    The cable lock that secured the bicycle was left in the area, police reported.

    The estimated loss is $800, according to a report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between Sep. 14 and 15 by taking a shovel from a residence near the Polytechnic campus, police reported.The estimated loss is $20, according to a police report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.
