The Suns' second preseason game on Wednesday was bittersweet. The Raptors killed the Suns, winning 129-78.
It was great to watch the Suns on the court again, but to see them lose by more than 50 points was not fun at all.
The only positive light in the Suns’ loss is that it wasn’t one of those boring blowouts.
It had some entertaining moments, like when Grant Hill of the Suns and Reggie Evans of the Raptors both got ejected from the game for slapping each other’s butt.
The two players had been standing next to each other trash talking and the refs awarded them a double technical to calm the game down.
On the next inbound play, Hill ended up with the ball. He tried to move around Evans who was guarding the middle post but he was bumped to the ground.
Hill got up and gave Evans a tap on his rear. Evans responded with a harder one, and Hill finished the tagging game last.
This display was followed with the ridiculous decision to eject both players.
Apparently the NBA wanted to use these two players as an example to let everyone know that they disapprove of the butt slap.
