First and foremost, I want to send my most heartfelt thoughts to the family of Declan Sullivan.

Sullivan was a Notre Dame student that was killed falling from a scissor lift while filming football practice in extreme winds last week. This was a tragic accident, but an accident that could have easily been avoided.

Somebody has to be held accountable and naturally that falls into the lap of Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly. It was his call to hold practice outside knowing that the winds were extreme.

There are a couple of things that are going to cost the university dearly. First, Sullivan’s Twitter account disproves that it was a fluke wind that caused the lift to fall.

Before practice, Sullivan posted, "Gusts of wind up to 60 mph. Well today will be fun at work. I guess I've lived long enough."

While up on the lift, Sullivan described his fear.

"Holy f---k. Holy f---k. This is terrifying."

Something that will also cost Kelly is Ohio State's coach Jim Tressel’s decision a day earlier to move his practice indoors because he specifically noted he feared for the videographers on lifts.

Somebody has to be punished for this tragedy because it should have never happened. That man has to be Kelly because his decision killed Declan Sullivan.
