Men’s basketball picked to finish 4th in Pac-10

The ASU men’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Pac-10, according to a poll of media members who cover Pac-10 men’s basketball.

The Sun Devils finished second in the Pac-10 last season with a 12-6 conference record, 22-11 overall.

Washington, who won the conference last year, was picked to win this year’s Pac-10 after making it to the Sweet 16 in last season’s NCAA tournament.

The Huskies return four starters from last year’s squad.

UA and UCLA each picked up one first place vote to place in second and third, respectively.

The Pac-10 also announced Thursday that the men’s and women’s conference tournaments in Los Angeles will be combined, and that the Pac-10 will honor legendary coach John Wooden and his legacy throughout this season.

Wooden passed away on June 4, 2010 at the age of 99.

He led UCLA to 10 NCAA Championships during his final 12 seasons as the Bruins head coach, including 620 wins and a record-winning streak of 88 games.
