Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiring with three other suspects to purchase 1,000 pounds of marijuana Oct. 18 at 4:26 a.m. in Tempe, according to a police report.The suspect was booked into Tempe Jail and charged with possession of marijuana and sale, police said.
  • On Oct. 17 at about 7 p.m. officers were called to a location in reference to an assault, according to a police report.Police found a female bleeding from the ear, police reported.She stated that the suspect, a 38-year-old Tempe man, had choked and hit her during a verbal argument and then fled, police reported.She said she had an order of protection against the suspect, and he had lived with her as her boyfriend, according to a police report.

    The victim’s daughter said she had heard her mother and the suspect arguing, and had fled with her phone to call the police while hearing her mother gasping for air with the suspect on her, police reported.

    The suspect, after fleeing the location, had returned to the residence at about 1 a.m. and entered through a doggie door, police reported.

    The suspect was located and arrested on suspicion of two separate counts of aggravated assault related to domestic violence and on suspicion of two counts of violating a protective order, according to a police report.

  • A 19-year-old Manzanita Hall resident was cited on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia after ASU Police reported responding to the odor of marijuana emanating from the room, according to a police report.The suspect identified himself as the resident of the room and admitted to smoking marijuana with his three friends, police reported.ASU Police asked if there was any paraphernalia in the room, and the suspect produced a purple-colored water bong from under his bed, according to a police report.The suspect gave permission for a search of the room, where police found a pipe typically used for smoking marijuana, police reported.
  • On Oct. 15, 16 and 17, ASU Police reported a total of 10 citations to suspects on suspicion of being under 21 with alcohol in body.
