Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 55-year-old woman was arrested at 2:53 a.m. on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.The woman was stopped by police, and while speaking with the officer, she said she was in possession of a glass pipe with which she said she smoked methamphetamine, according to a police report.A search of the woman’s purse yielded the glass pipe, and upon further search, police discovered a small plastic baggie containing a white, crystalline material, police reported.

    The substance was later identified as methamphetamine, according to a police report.

  • A man of unknown age was arrested near 1st Street and Ash Avenue in Tempe at 4:15 a.m. under suspicion of first-degree criminal trespassing, police reported.The man was arrested after he entered the light rail bridge near Washington Street, according to a police report.The entrance to the bridge is marked with seven “no trespassing” signs, and the signs also indicate it is a felony to trespass, police reported.

    Light rail security contacted the man 50 yards north of 1st Street on the bridge, according to a police report.

    When asked, the man said he was angry he missed the light rail and he wanted to take a short cut, police reported.

    He was transported to the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to a police report.

  • An 18-year-old male ASU student was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 1300 block of University Road, police reported.Police spotted the man while he was in his car, and when contacted, he was seen smoking marijuana with two females, according to a police report.He was released pending drug charges from Tempe City Jail, police reported.
ASU Police reported the following incidents this weekend:

  • Between noon on Friday, and 5 p.m. Sunday, a student’s bicycle tires were stolen from his bike while it was locked up on the bike rack on the south side of Hassayampa Academic Village on the Tempe campus, police reported.The estimated loss is $80 and there are no leads, witnesses or suspects at this time, according to a police report.
  • On Friday between 1 a.m. and noon, unknown suspects entered a residence on the 700 block of East Apache Boulevard and committed burglary, police reported.The 20-year-old victim and his roommate were having a party at their residence, which included uninvited guests, according to a police report.Various items were stolen, with a total loss of approximately $1,790, police reported.

    There are no leads or suspects currently, according to a police report.
