Police Beat: Oct. 7


ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • An unknown person or persons committed burglary between 9 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, police reported.An Apple MacBook Pro and accessories were removed from an 18-year-old male student’s room in Hassayampa Academic Village on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.

    The estimated loss is $1,200, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a police report.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 30, police reported.The purse of a 20-year-old female student was removed from a secured locker on the north side of the ASU Bookstore on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.

    The estimated loss is $200, according to a report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed burglary and criminal damage between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police reported.The front passenger window of a truck belonging to a 24-year-old woman was broken while it was parked at the Community Park on Wood Drive in Tempe, according to a report.

    Items worth approximately $480 were removed, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a police report.

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage to the vehicle of a 26-year-old male student between 11:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 28, police reported.The driver side door was pried open and the driver side window of the vehicle was smashed while it was parked in West Lot 2 on University Way South at the West campus, according to a report.

    No property was taken, but the estimated loss is $500, police reported.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.

Tempe Police reported the following arrests Wednesday:
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested around midnight Sunday on suspicion of possession of narcotics and misconduct involving weapons, police reported.The man was a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation in the parking lot near 48th Street and Baseline Road, according to a report.

    During a search of the vehicle, a usable amount of a white powder assumed to be cocaine was found on the man, police reported.

    The suspect also advised police he had a handgun in his shirt pocket, but upon search, no handgun was found, according to a report.

  • A 27-year-old female was arrested at 1:55 a.m. Oct. 1 for aggravated DUI and driving on a suspended license, police reported.The woman was driving southbound on Rural Road near Terrace Road when she was unable to keep her vehicle in a single lane, according to a report.

    The woman was observed to have bloodshot eyes and a blood alcohol content of .092, police reported.
