Swimmer Ejdervik honored for record-breaking performance

ASU junior swimmer Rebecca Ejdervik was rewarded last week for her impressive performance at the Arena Invitational as she was named the ASU athlete of the week for the week that ended Nov. 24.

Ejdervik was involved in two record-setting performances at the inviatational. Individually, she broke the seven-year-old meet record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.04. The time also put Ejdervik third on the ASU record board. Ejdervik was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team that edged out No. 1 Stanford and set a meet record with a time of 1:38.93.

While she may not have been named athlete of the week, freshman Tristin Baxter, also had a great week as she set two ASU school records. Baxter is the new ASU record holder in both the 1650-yard fresstyle and the 1000-yard freestyle.

The record-breaking performances helped lead ASU to a third-place finish in the 20-team meet.
