This is quite possibly my least favorite time of the year.

You see, I watch ESPN, and, to an extent, SportsCenter, pretty much every day. It’s a good way to catch up on everything I miss while at school.

But in the week before the Super Bowl, I can’t stand it. I understand that it’s the single biggest NFL game of the year. I also understand that it’s eagerly watched and anticipated by millions of people around the world.

That is not an excuse to devote 24-hour coverage for an entire week prior to the game. It’s overblown. After two days, they’re just repeating over and over the same tired analysis that you already heard from some other panel of experts.

I actually appreciate the Pro Bowl being moved to this past weekend because I clearly remember all this madness starting two weeks out when the Cardinals made it to the big game. I just wanted it all to be over by the time the game rolled around.

My solution is to devote an hour a day to the coverage. Any breaking news can fit in that time slot.

And no one will be sick of hearing about the Packers and the Steelers before they ever step out onto the field.
