ASU redshirt freshman safety Ramon Abreu has been suspended from the football program after his arrest for felony sexual conduct with a minor, ASU athletics confirmed to The State Press on Sunday.
Abreu redshirted the 2010 season after committing to ASU out of Marcos De Niza High School in Tempe. Rivals.com ranked Abreu as the 10th best player in the state of Arizona coming out of high school.
The Sun Devils were not aware of the incident when they signed Abreu.
During his high school career, Abreu totaled 416 tackles and rushed for 2,032 yards. During his senior season, Abreu led the Padres to the 5A-II State Championship Game and was given the Ed Doherty Award as Arizona’s top high school senior.
