A cheerleader almost cost Louisville a basketball game.

Don’t believe me?

With the Cardinals up 62-57 in overtime against Pittsburgh on Sunday, the clock didn’t stop after a made basket like it was supposed to.

So the cheerleaders rushed onto the court to celebrate a big victory.

One of the men on the squad decided to grab the basketball and toss it into the air.

Well, since there was officially still 0.5 seconds left on the clock, that’s delay of game and a technical foul was assessed to the cheerleader and Louisville.

That put the Panthers at the line for two free throws.  After both were successful, Pittsburgh had one more chance to tie the game with a 3-pointer.

Luckily for Louisville and more importantly the cheerleader, the last-second shot was unsuccessful.

"All good things have to come to an end, and the male cheerleader [at Louisville] comes to an end," Louisville coach Rick Pitino told the Associated Press. "Hopefully he'll learn the rules."

So here’s a memo to all you cheerleaders out there: don’t grab the basketball.

I bet you never thought you’d see the day when a cheerleader almost cost his team a victory.

Neither did I.
