Tedy Bruschi needs to shut up immediately.

The former UA Wildcat and New England Patriot used his position at ESPN to show his viewpoint on the impending NFL draft problem.

Bruschi said on the sports network, “These players have a responsibility to join (the current locked out players) and not go to the draft to show solidarity among the players.”

This makes no sense. One of the main solutions the NFLPA has been proposing is putting a rookie salary cap in place.

So let me get this straight: The NFLPA wanted to cut these collegiate players salaries and it didn’t work. So now the players have the responsibility to stand behind that same organization to show solidarity, even though they are not even part of the NFLPA yet?

This is preposterous. The fact of the matter is that the players should go to the draft. They should have a great time experiencing all the trip to New York City has to offer.

Maybe Mr. Bruschi is showing his bias against the owners, maybe he is just trying to support his former colleagues or maybe he just holds resentment against the fact that he was chosen 86th overall in his draft. I don’t know.

Whatever the case, the NFLPA plea is pathetic and shouldn’t hold water in the NCAA player’s minds.
