ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 19-year-old male ASU student was arrested Sunday on suspicion of false reporting to a law enforcement agency, being a minor with alcohol in his body and possession of a fictitious license, according to a police report.The arrest occurred outside of the ASU Bookstore on the Tempe campus at approximately 3:30 a.m., police reported.The man provided a false date of birth and address to officers and was under 21 with alcohol in his body, police reported.

    Police also found a fake New Jersey driver’s license in the man’s wallet after the arrest, according to the report.

    The man was transported to 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix where he was booked, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed theft at the 800 block of South Cady Mall on the Tempe campus between 10 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. Friday, according to a police report.The person or persons stole credit cards and a purse containing personal property from the east side of the GIOS building, police reported.The total estimated loss is $459, according to the report.
  • An unknown female was seen attempting to commit burglary on the 1700 block of South Rural Road in Tempe at approximately 10:20 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report.A witness observed the female entering the secured and fenced yard of the ASU Material Services Building and unsuccessfully attempt to steal two rubber-and-copper spools, police reported.There is a vague description of the woman but no other leads at this time, according to the report.
Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
  • A 19-year-old Phoenix woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 2700 block of West Baseline Road in Tempe at approximately 1:55 p.m. Friday, according to a police report.An investigation revealed that the woman had stolen numerous DVDs from the Fry’s Marketplace at that location that amounted to $267, police reported.The woman admitted to stealing them and said she had planned to sell them for money, according to the report.

    A search incident to arrest revealed a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her purse, which she denied owning and said belonged to a friend, police reported.

    The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail where she was booked and held, according to the police report.
