No gymnasts qualify for championships

The ASU gymnastics season officially came to an end Monday, as senior Beaté Jones and junior Madison Snowden both failed in their bid to qualify for the NCAA tournament as individuals.

Jones, who competed as an all-arounder, and Snowden, who performed as an event specialist on floor, were the only Sun Devils to represent ASU this past weekend at the NCAA Regionals in Norman, Okla.

Both ladies were put in extremely talented groupings, and neither gymnast topped her season high score, which would have likely earned a spot at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, on Apr. 15 to 17. Jones posted an all-around score of 38.725 on the day. This tally was a few tenths off of her goal of 39, a score that likely would have punched Jones’ ticket to the NCAAs.

Snowden also had a solid performance in Norman, putting up a 9.875, but her showing also wasn’t good enough to advance.
