For some, graduation is right around the corner. After that comes the “real” job, taxes and then death. As daunting as that might seem, take solace in the fact that we have the control with everything in-between.

For those with some time to burn however — and for those who want to take notes on the often debated do’s and don’ts upon entering the workforce — thank Comedy Central for bringing to their audience “Workaholics,” a new show that debuted April 6.

Originally a Web series on 5thyear.com, “Workaholics” was picked up by Comedy Central for what looks to be at least 10 half-hour episodes. Featuring the members of the sketch group Mail Order Comedy, the show focuses on the lives of three friends as they enter into the workforce post-college.

These are not over-achievers. They are not inclined in any area other than that of recklessness abandon. They will never enjoy the fruits of their labor, as the revolving theme among these three BFF’s seems to be working as little as possible, as often as possible and as under the influence as possible.

The first episode featured the trio, while on their lunch break, attempting to acquire enough clean urine (from grade school children no less) to use for a drug-test that awaited them back at work. In tonight’s episode, however, the boys look to explore the various stages and forms that love has to offer. Future episodes not only look to continue boasting the joys of their chosen profession of telemarketing, but also look to feature a body building contest and a “No Bra Friday” day at the office.

Regardless of how you are spending your college days (or have spent them already) having youthful volunteers willing to exploit their own safety, sanity and overall well-being for our own selfish enjoyment is beyond entertaining; it’s down-right therapeutic. In these embittered times, such perspective is refreshing.

While many of us worry too much, it’s nice to know that there is a faction of society determined not to care at all. In today’s job market, having a modern day Three Stooges show us how they get by is a nice change of pace.

“Workaholics” airs Wednesdays on Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. central time.
