After a surprising performance at the NCAA Championships, the ASU wrestling team has swept the three major Pac-10 awards.

Anthony Robles won Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year, Bubba Jenkins won Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year and coach Shawn Charles won Pac-10 Coach of the Year. It was the first time in Pac-10 history that one school claimed all three awards.

Robles, who also won the award in 2009, dominated his competition this year with an undefeated season and a national title at the 125-pound weight class. He also captured his third Pac-10 title this season.

Jenkins missed a chunk of the season due to injury but bounced back and finished second in the Pac-10 and upset his former school, Penn State, for the national title at 157 pounds.

After finishing the season with a rough 5-13 dual meet record, a sixth place finish at the national team standings was quite the accomplishment. Charles’ squad had three All-Americans this season, the most for ASU since 2006.
