With baseball season now well underway, I think it’s time we start recognizing which team is the real deal.
I’m sick of hearing about the Phillies and their hand of aces, I’m tired of listening to analysts drone on about the overhyped Red Sox, and even Brain Wilson’s beard has become so last October.
This year, it’s all about the Rockies.
Colorado sits atop the NL West with a 17-8 mark and is looking like a team with much more promise than the defending champion Giants or the slow-starting Red Sox. Ladies, gents, I hope you are prepared for round two of Rocktober this fall.
Think I’m crazy? Well, I got one word for you: Tulowitzki. If you don’t know who he is, then you must live in a box. I’ve never heard so many analysts and announcers drool over a player so much. At the plate, he makes hitting look like pure child’s play. At shortstop, he’s a black hole. And everywhere in between, he’s dripping with speed and baseball smarts and pure, steroid-free swagger.
This is a guy that can single-handedly throw a club on his back and will them to victory. Forget A-Rod, Prince Albert, Josh Hamilton and Joey Votto.
It’s Tulo’s time to shine.
