For most, the epic finale to MLB’s thrilling baseball season still buzzes as the playoffs are underway.

Tampa Bay started September 8.5 games behind Boston in the AL Wild Card. They faced another tall order trailing the Yankees 7-0 in the 8th inning.

Behind clutch hitting, the Rays made the improbable comeback and won in extras.

Just minutes later, the Red Sox gave up a walk-off hit to the Orioles, giving the Rays the playoff berth.

As exciting as the day was, the day will live in infamy for this Atlanta Braves fan.

Atlanta also led their wild card by 8.5 games in September, but they choked away the lead with poor play in September run and their seemingly insurmountable vanished.

The Braves were just one inning from extending their season to a one-game playoff, but their reliable closer walked three and gave up the one-run lead.

I had already been living and dying with every pitch from the third inning on, and the game went into 13 nail-biting innings.

Phillies outfielder Hunter Pence fisted a slow-rolling ground ball past two Atlanta infielders, plating the winning run and breaking my heart.
