Levi’s helps ASU women find the perfect fit

Everyone has that perfect pair of jeans — the pair that fits seamlessly, and can be worn to parties, class and everything in between.

In the spirit of perfect jeans, Levi’s arrived on the Tempe campus Tuesday for its Mirror, Mirror…What’s my Curve ID? tour, fitting lady Sun Devils with its line of women’s Curve ID jeans, designed to provide the wearer with her ideal size.

The tour spans 11 universities, and the school with the most jean fittings wins a $10,000 grant toward women’s programs.

“There is a lot of incentive to come in to have some fun, find a great pair of jeans and win some money for your school,” said tour manager Mary McCorkle.

The event featured the fittings, as well as free hair and makeup styling stations.

McCorkle said many girls just haven’t been fitted properly, but the Curve ID event is a chance for them to find a size that works well.

“(We) are going to take your measurements and tell you exactly what size you are,” McCorkle said. “Levi’s put a lot of research behind the Curve ID line so there is really [a jean] for everyone.”

Design management junior Alex McEntire said she came to the event after her fashion blogger friend told her about it. She was sized with a “supreme curve” fit.

“It’s neat that they set it up so everyone can come out here and kind of have a girls’ day with hair, makeup and trying on some new clothes,” McEntire said.

Business exploratory freshman Melinda Herrera said the event was a good opportunity to find her exact style.

“I thought it was really cool to have a personal fitting for jeans and then to get free stuff,” Herrera said.

Management freshman Samantha Urban said she thought the event was a good opportunity for ASU to win some money for women’s programs.

“I mean, they are going to give us money for getting our hair and makeup done,” Urban said.

Herrera said she also appreciated Curve ID as a program that will benefit girls.

“It’s a good program because women’s athletics are kind of looked down upon,” Hererra said. “It’s good that [the grant] is especially for them, and that it’s a girly event for girl’s programs.”
