Robber fires shots inside Tempe McDonald's

An armed robber fired shots inside a Tempe McDonald’s restaurant near Priest Drive and Baseline Road early Monday morning before fleeing the scene with cash, according to police.

Tempe Police spokeswoman Molly Enright said in an email that police received calls of an armed robbery at the restaurant at 6 a.m.

The male robber fired shots into the restaurant’s ceiling and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Enright said. No injuries were reported.

Police describe the robber as a heavyset black male wearing a white baseball cap with a red logo on the brim, white knee-length shorts and a black hoodie.

No other information was available, Enright said. The investigation is ongoing.
