ASU Police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium during ASU’s Homecoming game on suspicion of disorderly conduct, according to a police report. An ASU Police officer working at the game was told of a fight that had taken place in section 28, police reported. When the officer arrived he saw the man bleeding from the forehead and yelling at multiple people in the crowd, according to the report. As the man’s wounds were treated, the officer began questioning people to see if anyone else was involved and multiple people pointed out a nearby 40-year-old man, police reported. The officer began to question the older man, police reported. He told the officer the 22-year-old was standing up, appeared to be intoxicated and was heckling and disturbing fans in the area, according to the report. The older man said this behavior continued for a “long time,” resulting in several people yelling at him to stop but he would just yell obscenities at them instead, police reported. The man later pushed a woman when she asked him to stop disturbing people, according to the report. The older man said that was when he confronted the 22-year-old and the two began to argue, police reported.

The younger man said, “I’m gonna fight everyone, I can fight all day!” and then charged at the older man, police reported. The younger man then fell onto the cement steps, cutting his forehead, according to the report.

After the man fell, a few people in the section detained the man while others went and notified authorities, police reported. Several witnesses also corroborated the older man’s story and told police no crowd members harmed the younger man, according to the report.

The man was treated for his injuries and then escorted off the premises with a citation for disorderly conduct and told he was not to return to the game or else he would be cited for trespassing as well, police reported.

  • A parked car was allegedly broken into, resulting in criminal damage at the 700 block of East Apache Boulevard, according to a police report.A 20-year-old man’s 2002 Pontiac Trans Am was parked at the Vista Del Sol parking lot when it was broken into through the glass T-top window of the passenger side, police reported. The man told ASU Police nothing was stolen from the vehicle and all doors were still locked, according to the report. The man said he was with his girlfriend all night and did not get into any recent confrontations and the alleged crime was most likely a random act, police reported. An officer searched the premises of the parking lot for a security camera but there was none, according to the report. Neither police nor the man have any leads at this time, but the man is willing to aid in prosecution if the suspect is found, police reported. The estimated damage value is $300, according to the report.
