It’s that time of year again.

The Super Bowl is over and the football season we’ve followed since August also finished. Sports fans don’t know where to turn to fulfill their sports appetite.

The other televised sports just don’t stack up with the drama of the NFL’s single-elimination postseason.

College basketball isn’t exciting until the 65-team tournament in March. However, the popularity of the tournament is mainly due to office pools and brackets, and not a true love of college basketball.

The NBA’s regular season games are rendered meaningless because of the excessive two-month postseason. If your team is on the bubble, it could be an exhilarating time, but more than half of the league advances to the postseason.

Spring training doesn’t start until the beginning of March, and the NHL does not attract a lot of viewership.

With that in mind, maybe it’s time for sports fans to take a little break from the games we love so much and focus on other things such as doing well in school or building relationships.

A couple weeks off couldn’t hurt, right?
