All season long, people have questioned whether Kobe Bryant can continue to produce at his “old” age.
All season long, Kobe has answered this question with a resounding, “Yes, he can.”
Kobe is in his 16th season in the NBA, yet we’re still seeing the same Kobe we’ve been treated to for the past 15 years. In his quest for a sixth NBA championship, he continues to silence his critics.
He averages 29.3 points a game, more than he did during his MVP season in 2007-08 and the most since the 2005-06 season. The rest of his stats are extremely close to what he put up during his MVP campaign.
On top of that, he just passed former teammate Shaquille O’Neal for No. 5 on the NBA’s all-time leading scorer list.
Even with a compact schedule, Kobe is still playing like it’s any other year. Through injury and “old age,” he still manages to play at an unbelievable level. His skills have yet to weaken, like many critics assumed they would.
As long as it is basketball season, there’s only one thing we can expect from No. 24, and that’s Kobe being Kobe.
