“The Lorax”

Dr. Seuss’s world of imagination returns in the animated adaptation of  “The Lorax.” The movie details the story of Ted, a boy who lives in a highly industrialized city with no real trees, flowers or nature of any kind. The villain Once-ler chopped down all of the trees to profit from his invention.

The town of Thneed-Ville now depends on Ted who bravely embarks on a journey far away from home to find the legendary living trees. However, he must do so quickly to avoid the watchful eyes of the town’s authority.

On his journey he encounters a mysterious creature that helps him find his way.

“Rampart”

Officer Dave Brown (Woody Harrelson) is a corrupt police officer in Los Angeles’s Rampart Precinct, using his badge to show he is above the law. Brown is the epitome of corrupt government officials with his intensified portrayal of a fearless man with no regard to consequence. When he is finally caught on tape breaking the law, the pressure from his colleagues forces him to consider retirement, or worse — jail.

Public sentiment depicts extreme loathing for the LAPD as each day progresses under the scrutiny of Internal Affairs Investigator Kyle Timkins (Ice Cube). His career continues to hang in jeopardy while his family estrangement grows between his two ex-wives and two daughters in this brutal police drama.
