Sanchez the answer for NY Jets, not Tebow

Mark Sanchez is the starting quarterback of the New York Jets.

Despite Tim Tebow’s record in Denver, Sanchez is New York’s quarterback, and he showed everyone why on Sunday. In the Jets’ dismantling of the Bills, Sanchez completed 19 of his 27 pass attempts for 266 yards and three touchdowns.

Yes, Sanchez has struggled at times throughout his career, but he is a better quarterback than Tebow.

The former Florida Gator does have his place in the NFL, and apparently everyday on SportsCenter as well, but it is not under center or in the shotgun – unless he is being used in the “Wildcat” formation.

Tebow has the talent to play at this level and certainly deserves to have some packages drawn up that match his skill set, but those that believe he should replace Sanchez are out of their minds.

Those that believe Tebow should replace Sanchez after Sanchez’s week one performance are even more ludicrous.

It was only one game and Sanchez won’t be confused with Tom Brady or Drew Brees, but he is more than capable of leading a NFL team. Fans need to start accepting that and must give him credit for what he is able to accomplish on the gridiron.

Please stop the love affair with Tebow and let Sanchez lead the Jets.
