Congratulations to the city of Seattle. It’s one step closer to reviving the Sonics.

Investor Chris Hansen and the Seattle City Council have a tentative agreement on a $490 million multi-purpose arena that can hold a professional basketball and hockey team.

It’s about damn time.

Seattle is well known for its affection towards basketball and the Sonics. Heck, the locals still rock their Sonics gear, even though the team left four years ago to Oklahoma City.

Now Hansen can shop around to relocate a team and stab the hearts of another city to bring back the Sonics (I’m talking to you, Sacramento).

It wasn’t the fans fault the Sonics moved, more so the lack of action from city council.

Hopefully it won’t take long for those great fans to an NBA game again. But it’s good to know in a few years those Sonics won’t be zombies anymore.
